How to Reset your Windows password
If you forget your password, you can reset it using a password
reset disk for your user account .
1. If
you enter the wrong password when you attempt to log on, Windows displays a message that the password is
incorrect.
2. Click
Reset password, and then insert your password reset disk
or USB flash drive.
3. Follow
the steps in the Password Reset wizard to create a new password.
4. Log
on with the new password. If you forget your password again, you can use the
same password reset disk. You don't need to make a new one.
Note-
If you reset your password using a password reset disk, there are no
risks. If you use an administrator account to reset a password for another
user, that user will lose access to their encrypted files, encrypted e‑mail
messages, and stored passwords for websites or network resources.
How to Create a password reset disk in Windows os
If you forget your Windows password,
you can use a password reset disk to create a new one. For this you'll need removable media (a USB
flash drive).
1. Insert
your removable media.
2. Open
User Accounts( Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts) or
press window key type user account press enter.
3. In
the left pane, click Create a password reset disk, and
then follow the instructions. Store your password reset disk in a safe place.
How to repartition computers hard disk
you can repartition your hard disk by using the Shrink
feature in Disk Management. You can shrink an existing partition or volume to
create unallocated disk space, from which you can create a new partition or
volume.
1. Open
Computer Management. To open this press START_KEY and type Computer Management
in search bar or right click on computer icon on desktop and click manage.
2. In
the left pane, under Storage, click Disk
Management.
3. Right-click
the volume you want to shrink, and then click Shrink Volume.
4. Follow
the instructions.

Install more than one operating system (multiboot)
When you install a new version of Windows, you can keep an older version of Windows on your computer. This is called a multiboot or dual-boot
configuration. Whenever you start your computer, you can choose which version
of Windows to run.
Multibooting requires separate partitions on your computer's hard disk for each operating system.
To install Windows on a separate
partition or hard disk
- Turn on the computer running your current edition of
Windows, and then insert the installation disc
- Install Windows
menu à click Install
now.
- Click I accept the license terms.
- Click Custom.
- Where do you want to install Windows page, select the
partition or disk where you want to install the new Windows operating
system. Be sure to install Windows on a different partition from the
partition where your current version of Windows is installed.
- Click Next to begin the installation.
